Principal's Message
Dear Valley Oak Families and Friends,
July 1, 2023
Welcome to a new and exciting school year! I am honored by the opportunity to serve as Valley Oak Middle School’s new principal. As a Valley Oak alumni, I remember the wonderful experiences I had as a student many years ago. The opportunity to serve the community that groomed me into the person and professional I am today is humbling. As we navigate the challenges and success of a new school year, I am committed to ensuring that Valley Oak is a school that you and this community can have pride in. My staff and I are here to serve the needs of students, parents, and the community. I look forward to an amazing school year and I cannot wait to meet you and your students!

- The first day of the new school year is Thursday, August 10, 2023. My staff and I are excited to see our Broncos! Students with a pre-first period will need to attend pre-first starting on August 11th.
- VO Picture Day is Tuesday, September 5, 2023. Pictures will take place in P.E. classes.
- Back-to-School Night is on Thursday, August 30, 2022 from 5:30pm - 7:30pm.
Communication/Contact Information
- Please complete your student's online registration. This will help us have accurate information. Please update your phone numbers and address to continue to receive updates, Blackboard Teleparent messages, and Principal Franco's Newsletter in a timely manner.
- PowerSchool Parent Portal is a resource all parents need to sign up for to access student attendance, grades, teacher contact information and much more. If you do not yet have a Parent Portal account, you can go to this link and follow the instructions to create an account. Please make sure you have set up your account before school starts so you know what classes your child is in. For assistance, please contact our office to speak with your student's counselor: Mrs.Flores (7th grade), and Ms. Leon (8th grade).
Please know that my door is open and I am here to support you in any way possible. I can be reached by email at jfrancogonzalez@vusd.org or by calling our office at (559) 730-7681.
